120 Greek companies invested in Serbia - direct investments worth 1.9 billion EUR

Vice President of the Athens Chamber of Trade and Industry, Eleftorios Kurtalis, said that there were 120 exclusively Greek companies and another 150 joint ventures with Greek capital in Serbia and that they employed total of 25,000 people.

- Direct Greek investments amount to 1.9 billion EUR, while total investments amount to 2.2 billion EUR. Additional Greek aid to Serbia’s development in field of procurement and modernization of machines amounts to 232m EUR - said Kurtalis.


He estimated that Greek investors in Serbia found services, food and supermarkets, textile industry and banking sector the most interesting for future investments.

He said that it was interesting that Greek companies had invested in textile industry in Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, but not in Serbia.
