Chinese interested in reconstructing Trznica and opening department store in Ruma

Chinese investors are interested in raising a big department store of the renowned store chain Panda, as well as in investing in the indoor section of the Green Market in Ruma, as stated on the website of the Municipality of Ruma.

Representatives of the Association of Chinese Businessmen of Vojvodina have visited the Green Market and its indoor section Trznica. The Chinese are interested in investing in the modernization of the indoor section of the Green Market, and the plan is to reconstruct the premises and build a floor featuring office space above Trznica.

Mayor of Ruma Sladjan Mancic said that both proposals were acceptable to the municipality and that the local self-government would do everything necessary for the project to be realized.

– Representatives of the Chinese delegation informed me that they would employ around 30 people at the Panda department store. As a local self-government, we support the arrival of all investors, including, of course, those from PR China. Everybody knows that a Chinese company which produces memory foam is already doing business here, as do numerous Chinese entrepreneurs, and the arrival of another Chinese-Serbia company has been planned as well – he said.

Mancic said that “regarding the Green market, we've informed our Chinese guests that the Municipality of Ruma has invested over RSD 20 million in developing the green market area, but that there is a possibility of cooperation in reconstructing Trznica. If our interests are proven to match, we can complete the project together”.

The Association of Chinese Businessmen of Vojvodina was founded in December 2016 and is a member of the Association of Chinese Businessmen of Serbia.
