Serbia on list of "Daimler" concern for construction of factory for new series of "Mercedes" automobiles

Citing the sources in the management of automobile concern "Daimler", German magazine "Auto moto sport" announced that Serbia was among the countries where new series of "Mercedes" automobiles could be produced.
During the next week, "Mercedes" will make the decision about where to organize production of new generation of "small vehicles" "Mercedes" A and B class.
The magazine found out from the source close to the top of "Daimler" concern that the negotiations with partners in Poland and Romania were in progress and that the talks with Hungary and Serbia were in the pipeline.
Executive Manager of "Damler", Dieter Zetsche, announced on Friday (June 13, 2008) in Bremen that the production of new generation of "Mercedes" would start in 2011 and added that the decision about the location of production unit had not been made yet.
The magazine claims that Serbia offered favorable subvention to "Mercedes", while Hungary offered highly qualified manpower.
The source of the aforementioned magazine estimates that Romania has the least chances for the "agreement" with company "Mercedes".
The spokesperson of this company did not want to comment on these claims, but he said that the decision about cooperation would be made without any pressures and time limits.
