2005 - The Waterpolo players of Serbia and Montenegro - the champions of the world

In the world cup taking place in Montreal, the waterpolo representation of S&M reached a great success and in the finale beat the Hungarians with 8:7. In the semi-finals the Croats also "fell down" with 5:4 and so the strangely beautiful story on S&M talent in group sports goes on. The final placement: 1. S&M, 2. Hungary, 3. Greece, 4. Croatia, 5. Spain, 6. Romania, 7. Russia, 8. Italy...

It all looked as if the game took place in the Tasmajdan Sports Center. All those kids that have been leaving this country in the last fifteen years for Canada, wanted to be at the game. Some "Wolves from the Ontario" made it. If the luck had been more favorable, they would have been here, but being as it is, the telephones and the internet connect people a bit, just as do some sports competitions across the ocean.

The gold was won by: the goal keeper Denis Sefik (Jadran Herceg Novi), born 1976, guard Petar Trbojevic (Barseloneta) born 1973, guard Nikola Jankovic (Jadran) born 1980, guard Vanja Udovicic (Posilipo) born 1982, guard Dejan Savic (Sintez) born 1975, guard Danilo Ikodinovic (Partizan) born 1976, center Slobodan Nikic (Olimpiakos) born 1983, outer player Vladimir Gojkovic (Jadran) born 1981, center Boris Zlokovic (Posilipo) born 1983, outer player Aleksandar Sapic (Savona) born 1978, guard Vladimir Vujasinovic (Pro Reko) born 1973, guard Predrag Jokic (Savona) born 1983 and the goal keeper Zdravko Radic (Primorac Kotor) born 1979. The coach was Petar Porobic, who has been the member of the expert headquarters of the representation since 1999, and the trainer assistant since year 2000.
