Transfer tax at Airport "Nikola Tesla" to be lowered by 12.5 EUR in 60 days

Transfer tax at Airport "Nikola Tesla" will be returned from current 16.5 EUR to 4 EUR and all companies will have to put that decision in effect within next 60 days. This has been agreed on at today's (June 9, 2008) meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia, Božidar Đelić, and the management of Airport and "Jat Airways".

Đelić said to the press that the phone meeting of the Administrative Board of the Airport would be held that day, as well as that the customs of the international civil aviation anticipated 60-day period for such decision to be put in effect by all air transportation companies.

According to his words, security tax will be introduced and it will be collected for the needs of organization and introduction of higher level of security at the Belgrade airport, but its amount has not been specified yet.

Đelić pointed out that the Airport's suggestion was that the security tax should amount to 4.5 EUR and that company must submit calculation for that prior to Wednesday, while the Government would determine amount of the tax on Thursday.
