Savings of citizens of Serbia amount to EUR 9.24 billion at the end of March 2017

The citizens of Serbia had a total on RSD 1,138 billion in their savings accounts in banks at the end of March 2017, which, calculated by the middle exchange rate of the central bank, amounts to EUR 9.24 billion.

The total savings grew in March compared to the previous months by around RSD 4 billion (EUR 32.5 million), according to the latest statistical bulletin of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) of March 2017.

Of the total amount, there were RSD 51.28 billion on dinar savings accounts in the observed month.

Short-term dinar savings amounted to RSD 44.44 billion, and long-term savings amounted to RSD 6.84 billion.

Foreign exchange savings amounted to RSD 1,087 in March, i.e. EUR 8.83 billion, There was a total of RSD 893.5 billion (EUR 7.26 billion) in short-term foreign exchange savings accounts and RSD 193.60 billion (EUR 1.57 billion) in long-term foreign exchange savings accounts.
