The 84th Novi Sad International Agricultural Fair, in which around 1,500 exhibitors from 60 countries are to take part, will take place on May 13-19, it was announced on May 4 at a press conference.

As Slobodan Cvetkovic, director of the Novi Sad Fair, said, the country-partner of the seven-day event, one of the most important events of its kind in Central and Southeast Europe, which will be held on more than 60,000 square meters of exhibition space, is Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose trade with Serbia exceeds EUR 1.5 billion.

Cvetkovic said that companies from 25 countries – Austria, Albania, Belgium, B&H, Bulgaria, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Greece, France, Holland, Croatia, Italy, Israel, China, Latvia, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and UAE – would present their goods services by directly participating in the exhibit.

He said that 10 collective exhibits would also be organized, mostly in Hall 1, where B&H is exhibiting as well, and announced that companies from Israel were to make a joint presentation for the first time.

According to Cvetkovic, the fair will present an overview of the current state of agriculture and promote all the technological innovations and new achievements in agricultural mechanization.

He pointed out that the National Livestock Exhibit would be organized with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, as well as exhibits of products with geographical indication of origin and organic products.

– This year, the focus will be on B2B meetings, as last year’s Agro B2B international meetings have proven successful and produced great results. So far, 92 companies from 12 countries have applied for the meetings – Cvetkovic said and announced that numerous professional gatherings and various side programs would be organized throughout the event.

He said that the biggest number of exhibitors would come from China to present products ranging from agricultural mechanization and water pumps to grain and tea processing equipment.

Ambassador of B&H to Serbia Lazar Mirkic said that 30 companies from B&H would take part in the fair, presenting its products and achievements in the field of agricultural business. He said that B&H had accepted the role of the country-partner at the 2017 fair, as Serbia and B&H had good cooperation, which could develop further.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Zeljko Radic said that agriculturists would be able to submit requests for procurement of new tractors with engine power of up to 100 kW throughout the event and pointed out that the interest displayed in the invitation, opened in early April, had been great up till then.

Individual tickets cost RSD 600, whereas group ones are RSD 400. On Saturday, the opening day, families with children under 16 will only need a single ticket to enter. The Fair will hand out the Belarus 82.1 tractor, worth EUR 20,500, to a visitor who takes part in the raffle.
