Alkaloid increases consolidated sales by 10% – Biggest growth in British market

The company Alkaloid AD Skopje had positive financial results in the January-March 2017 period, as shown by unaudited financial reports, the company reported.

Total consolidated sales in the January-March period reached EUR 37.9 million, an increase of 10% compared to the corresponding period of 2016. Consolidated sales revenues in the local market grew by 11%, whereas total consolidated exports increased by 9%. Of the total consolidated sales, 38% were realized in the local market and 62% in foreign ones.

Looking by regions, Southeast European countries make up 30% of the sales, Russia and CIS make up 8%, EU and EFTA make up 23%, whereas other markets make up 1%. The biggest growth in the exporting markets was recorded in Great Britain, where the sales reached EUR 1.1 million, an increase of 4.275%, Russia (36%), Romania (63%), Slovenia (28%), Croatia (5%), Hungary (369%), the Czech Republic (467%), Albania (11%)...

Total consolidated sales looking by product group show that the pharmaceutical products sold the best (85%), namely, OTC (20%), cardiovascular products (17%), neurological products (13%), antibiotics (15%) etc. Chemical, cosmetics and botanical segments make up 15% of consolidated sales, more precisely, the chemical segment – 4%, cosmetics – 8% and the botanical segment – 3%.

EBITDA reached EUR 6.3 million, a growth of 12%, whereas net consolidated profit amounted to EUR 3.8 million, an increase of 11%.

Total investments in non-current assets in the January-March period amounted to EUR 2.1 million, the press release says.
