Presentation of Project for development of tourism in the valley of the Drina river in which 1.8m EUR was invested

International humanitarian organization "CARE" presented the Project for development of tourism in the valley of the Drina river, in which 1.8m EUR was invested, on June 3rd.
The project official, Slavenka Pudar, said at the press conference that the funds had been provided by the Government of Netherlands and that the project included eight municipalities in Serbia and in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The municipalities in Serbia are Bajina Bašta, Ljubovija, Priboj and Užice, while those in BIH are Srebrenica, Bratunac, Višegrad and Rudo.
The aim of the project is economic growth in these municipalities and uniting of their tourist offers.
- During implementation of the project, driver license for boats was issued to 81 persons, which represents a stimulus for employment - said Pudar.
Also, the Association of the Drina's fishermen from 20 municipalities was founded and it has 12,000 members.
Implementation of the project for development of tourism in the valley of the Drina river was commenced at the end of year 2005 and it should be finished by the end of this year.
