World Bank to set aside EUR 60 million for Roads of Serbia

State Secretary of the Ministry of Construction Miodrag Poledica talked to the World Bank Country Manager for Serbia Tony Verheijen about the dynamics of the realization of projects in the Ministry’s responsibility, especially the financing of the PE Roads of Serbia with EUR 60 million, it was reported by the Ministry on Friday, April 21.


The World Bank, as said, is setting aside the money for the performance-based road maintenance project from 2017 till 2019 and a reform in the road sector, which should be modeled after the reform of the railway companies.

Representatives of the World Bank praised the reform in the railway sector, which, as they said, was successful and transparent, and Poledica presented to Verheijen the dynamics of the realization of the projects on the road Corridor 10, as well as the dynamics of the rehabilitation of the road network in Serbia, pertaining to the sections financed by the World Bank.
