Serbia will export three million liters of bottled water to Kuwait in the coming period, as agreed in Belgrade. The first shipment is to be sent in the coming days.

– This is the result of years of efforts toward opening the door for the export of Serbian water to Arab countries – Rasim Ljajic, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, said on the occasion of signing the contract.

He said that everything had been done to revive the cooperation between the two countries, as the trade in 2016 had amounted to merely USD 5.1 million.

Talking about the potentials for cooperation, he said that Serbia had already received a loan for the Prokop station from Kuwait, and that the financing of other project by the Kuwaiti had been announced.

– This agreement will enable other companies from Serbia to export their water to Arab countries as well, as the demand for our water is great. Serbia is known for quality mineral water, and the cooperation with Kuwait will open the door for cooperation in other projects – Ljajic said.
