– This is a tender for the procurement of diesel fuel worth around RSD 1.3 billion. We are filling only those storage facilities which are publicly owned and we are close to having those capacities filled – Antic said.
He added that the priority was to build new storage capacities in order to reach the goal of securing oil reserves needed for opening Chapter 15 (Energy) by 2023.
– All these activities should result in achieving the goal of having reserves for around 90 days by 2023 – Antic pointed out.
When asked whether the current oil reserves are sufficient, the minister says that the amount is in line with the plan.
– We now have enough oil and oil products for around ten days, and the additional amount, to be procured in 2017, will make it sufficient for around 15 days, which is fully in line with our plans and goals – Antic assessed.
The Directorate of Commodity Reserves and Transnafta currently have a part of the oil reserves, and, regarding new capacities, Antic said that the focus was on public-private partnership projects and added that there were two non-binding proposals at the moment.
– There's a mechanism for the analysis of these proposals and I expect that we will present a concept in the near future and open a public invitation for everyone interested to submit their bids. Of course, above all, we need to see what storage amounts are needed and build only as much as we need – Antic added.
