Belarus businessman to buy Mladenovac-based Petar Drapsin? - Estimated value of EUR 8 m

At a conference
at the municipal building, he mentioned that he has support of President and
Prime Minister of Serbia and Belarus, but that agreement does not end as quickly
as it should.
-
While the plant was working they exported to Belarus, and this was a quality
production. Unfortunately, over
the years, the factory has stopped working. It
is very important that when I start the factory, people who had worked to
maintain the level of quality that we expect also return to the plant. From
the beginning, we are planning a good level of production, with a good share of
exports – Borovo says, adding that they will change what is technologically
outdated, but this is a worthy project that is recognized by the European
Development Bank.
President of
Mladenovac municipality, Vladan Glisic explains that Drapsin is split into
three parts - the first part the Government of Serbia gave to blacksmith company
for management, where the major work on plant arrangement have been in progress,
Borovoj is interested in the second part while there are offers already for the
third part.
- Borovoj will have the option for his offer. Estimated total value is EUR 8 m, and the value of the investment is EUR 5 m. The company will be involved in production of pistons and liners it will employ 250 people in the first stage, and then another 150, the maximum total of 400. Ninety percent of production goes to export, and 5% is for domestic market. Public call will be scheduled for June 5, and app. July 5 we expect to sign the contract. Until June 5, the third part will also be offered for sale and then we will have the whole picture – Glisic says.
He notes mentions that ownership of the factory has been under solving and that there are a lot of investors interested in starting production, but priority will be given to quality people - "not as up to now, to those who make purchases for office space and resale".
