The state has invested EUR 540,000 in Weltex, which produces clothing featuring German and Austrian folk motifs meant for those two markets. The owners of the factory will use the funds to acquire new equipment.

The factory has 190 employees, and the plan is to double the number in two years to around 400.

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic pointed out on Saturday, March 11, that Weltex had returned hope to many, having employed a large number of people. He added that the Government would continue supporting the company.

The owner of Weltex, Ivan Savic, and his wife Snezana thanked the prime minister for his visit.

Weltex was founded in 2007. It produces 250,000 pieces of male, female and children's clothing a year.

The factory Chips Way, for which the state has also secured incentives, will also open a new facility in Cacak.
