Government of Serbia adopted energy deal and Stabilization Agreement

The Government of Serbia has unanimously adopted on May, 9th, 2008, proposal of the law of ratification of energy deal with Russia, and proposal for ratification of Stabilization Agreement has also been adopted.

All present ministers have voted for this proposal, and the session was presided by the Prime Minister, Vojislav Kostunica, who walked out of the meeting room along with other DSS minister during voting about proposal for ratification of Stabilization Agreement and joining to the European Union.

Kostunica and DSS ministers walked out as soon as it was confirmed that voting for Agreement would be the first point on their schedule, and the session continued to preside Bozidar Djelic, but they came in when it was discussed about the energy deal.

Government sessions are usually held on Thursdays, but on the proposal of the President of Serbia, Boris Tadic, the Prime Minister scheduled it for Friday, during pre election silence, in order to avoid political misuse of agreements on the schedule.
