Automatic air quality measuring station set in Beocin – 3,5 mil EUR for new stations, by the end of the year

Minister of protection of living environment, Sasa Dragin, was present yesterday (May, 08th, 2008) in Beocin, at installation of automatic air quality measuring station, equipped with the latest analyzers used in the world, the Ministry announced.

During this year and in the beginning of the next, 24 more automatic measuring stations will be installed in Serbia, and also one mobile laboratory, one calibration laboratory, as well as additional analytic equipment for air quality testing.

This kind of system with a total of 30 stationed stations will be within state network, which will be able to monitor concentration of polluting materia in the air in the majority part of Serbia, and the value of this project is 3,5 mil EUR.

Automatic analyzers will be sending the data to the central data base in the Agency for protection of living environment, each 10 minutes, with information about concentration of chemical active substances, and meteorological parameters.

Serbia already has 4 installed stations besides Beocin in Bor and in Smederevo, even 3. One more station is already being installed in Belgrade.
