For renovation of RK “Belgrade” 75 mil EUR approved

General director of department stores RK”Belgrade”, Krsta Sandic, announced that for renovation of objects of the former trade chain has been approved 75 mil EUR.

The works on renovation are developing according to the plan, and the objects will be available to the lessees in the last quarter of this year. Interior equipping will last additional 40 to 60 days.

- The priority was given to the objects in the central city zone, so the works in three department stores are already in the process, said Sandic, adding that works will start in 6 other objects, while the remaining ones will wait until completion of project documentation.

According to his words, the works are being done within construction adaptation, complete replacement or reparation of old machine and electrical installations, and it is also in plan to do interior development in order to adjust the space to the needs of modern concepts of department stores in the world.

Sandic said that there were 5 or 6 more lessees who hadn’t yet moved out from the objects of RK “Belgrade”, and they were given prolongation of the deadline for additional two-three months, according the plan of the new owner for renovation of each individual building.

General director pointed out that they were in negotiations with “large number of potential lessees”, and that their plan was also to bring new brands to the Serbian market.

- Of course, domestic producers will be kept in the first place, as well as their brands – said Sandic.
