Chinese requiring termination of invitation for professional management at RTB Bor?

The Chinese are on the verge of the decision to take over RTB Bor, but they have presented the Government of Serbia with conditions that first need to be met, Blic writes.

Along with the previously written about conditions, they've made another request – to terminate the public invitation for the professional management at RTB Bor, which was placed in December 2016.

As confirmed for Blic, the Chinese government has informed Serbia through diplomatic channels that the public invitation might slow down the privatization procedure.

– All negotiations about the privatization are being carried out on the state level. Our side is negotiating with the Chinese government, which decides which company will take part in the privatization. Since the negotiations have now been in progress for several months, the Chinese were surprised when the tender for professional management was placed in December. It was a surprise to them because the applications for professionals last until late April. Two more months are needed for the selection process to be completed, which practically means that this wouldn't end before July. That's why they've asked for an additional explanation. In other words, if a concrete agreement is reached, which is expected to take place during President Tomislav Nikolic's visit to China, professional management wouldn't even have been selected by that time – Blic writes, citing a Government source.
