Ten companies applied for participation in tender of RTB "Bor" for procurement of heavy mining equipment

Bids for procurement of machines for needs of the Bor and the Majdanpek copper mine (six heavy trucks "dumpers" for ore transportation and two bulldozers and graders), which is estimated to 10m USD, were submitted yesterday (May 5, 2008) by 10 companies from the country and abroad.

Expert commission formed by the management of RTB "Bor" will make its decision about the most favorable bid today.

- We expect that the Government of Serbia will make the decision in the shortest possible time and that it will transfer 10m USD from the auction guarantee collected from Austrian "A-Tec" to our account, so that we could pay for the machines - acting Executive Manager of RTB "Bor", Miodrag Conić, pointed out. - However, even if that does not happen, we already have our financial structure for purchase of that equipment.

According to Conić, if the machines are not delivered to RTB by the end of the year, copper mines in Bor and Majdanpek will stop working.
