It is almost certain that four big Turkish textile companies will arrive to Serbia and start doing business here by the end of the year. The companies in question are TYH Tekstil and Ugur Balkuv. Furthermore, two other companies from Turkey are being negotiated with.

These arrangements are the result of the recent visit of Minister of Trade Rasim Ljajic to Istanbul, where he presented all the advantages of investing in Serbia, but also the incentives available to foreign investors.

As Novosti writes, the two companies to arrive in March have already decided to invest in Serbia and are now supposed to choose between two or three locations.

– TYH sews for famous world brands such as Gant and Tommy Hilfiger. Another company from Istanbul, Ugur Balkuv, is to follow. The arrival of the Ormo Group from Bursa, the biggest wool producer in the world, is certain. They should open their facility in Lebane. The reconstruction of a 11,000 m2 hall should also start this month. The company will initially hire around 300 workers – the newspaper reports.

Likewise, Istanbul’s Birlesik Tekstil intends to buy a factory in Lazarevac out of bankruptcy. They are to produce clothes for brands such as Diesel, s. Oliver, Biba... They intend to employ around 250 workers initially.

Unofficially, Minister Ljajic is negotiating with another two companies, to whom locations in Vranje and Kraljevo have been offered, where halls already exist, which are to be reconstructed for their purposes.

Minister Ljajic recently said to the leading Turkish textile producers, gathered within the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), that Serbia had the best business climate in the region and the most favorable conditions for foreign investors.
