Problems with storing and freezing of small and berry-like fruit in Šabac, who will put cold storage plant Šapčanka into operation?

Putting of the biggest cold storage plant in Šabac, in factory “Šapčanka“, into operation would solve the problems with storing and freezing of small and berry-like fruit in that region. There are four cold storage plants in the Municipality of Šabac at the moment and their total capacity is 8,000 tons, which is enough only for half of the fruit growers in that region.

The cold storage plant in “Šapčanka“, with the capacity of 7,000 tons, does not have only to freeze the fruit and sell it, but also to store it and stimulate change in prices. The problem lies in the fact that the cold storage plant has been out of work for two years and that it is not supplied with electric power due to debt of 55 million CSD. (pregled)
