2005, Treatment of the future - protons kill cancer

The killers of malignant tumors from the future. They travel through the organizm of the patient by speed of up to 650 million km/h! They hit the carcinogenic target with the milimeter precision. These are atomic hydrogen nuclei, i.e. protons, which are catapulted to the body of the patient by means of the giant medical device that is as long as football playground as high as three-storey building. The miracle called “Proton therapeutical center“ is unique in Europe. It is being erected in German city of Munich. The capacity of the medical device is 5 patients at the same time, which makes total of 4,000 patients on annual basis. The investment is worth €150m. Proton therapy is similar to the classical ray therapy, but it is much more precise, which means that it maximally saves surrounding, healthy tissue. The experience of over 40,000 treated patients are so good that professor Rineker expects that few more proton ceters will be built in Europe and all around world.
