How to make Europeans mad with only one sentence

Sometimes, it only takes one sentence to make someone mad. People of various nations find different things to be irritating.

The Facebook page “sigmagfx” published a map of Europe containing sentences most likely to make people mad in certain countries.

People of Serbia, for example, will find it the most irritating being told that Nikola Tesla was a Croat.

Serbs and Croats are in constant dispute over the nationality of the famous scientist, otherwise a US resident. Even though he was born in the territory of today’s Croatia, Tesla’s parents were Serbs.

On the other hand, Croats dislike being called “Catholic Serbs”, just like the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina don’t like being thought of as “Muslim Serbs”.

It’s interesting that Slovenes are most likely to get mad when called “Alpine Serbs”, whereas Macedonians don’t want to be referred to as the “Southern Serbs”.

Hungarians find the English language joke of: “Are you hungry?” to be very irritating, and Bulgarians hate being asked why they are still using the “Russian alphabet”.

English are enraged by being told that the Falkland Islands are Argentinean, and Austrians hate being called “Germans”...
