Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Branislav Nedimovic said, following the meeting with representatives of the Kazakh holding KazAgro, that Serbia and Kazakhstan might form a joint fund to the end of increasing investments in both countries, as well as foreign trade, says the website of the Government of Serbia.

Nedimovic talked to the delegation of the Kazakh state company, which finances agriculturists, about the possibilities of forming the fund and said that such a model of cooperation already existed between Kazakhstan and Hungary.

This is a good model, as the minister estimated. He reminded that the realization of close to 30 projects between the two countries was in progress.

He expressed his gratitude to the company's representatives, as well as to the ambassador of Kazakhstan, for providing Serbia with an opportunity to present its agricultural export potentials.

Nedimovic said that there had been talk at the meeting about the transfer of technologies and knowledge from Serbia as well and announced that an investment forum would be held at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia on the same day (February 13), bringing together companies dealing in plantation materials and construction of storage facilities.

The idea is to transfer knowledge, thereby stimulating export from Serbia to Kazakhstan, he pointed out and added that Serbian companies whose operations are of interest for Kazakhstan would visit the country.

The chairman of the Managing Board of KazAgro, Nurlibek Maletov, said that he was quite pleased with the visit and that Serbia and Kazakhstan had considerable potential for cooperation.

Maletov said that, above all, opinions on the transfer of technologies, investments and markets where the two countries might sell agricultural products had been exchanged at the meeting.
