PRO program finances realization of 19 projects of associations of citizens with 105,000 USD

The Program for development of municipalities of southwest Serbia (PRO program) will grant 105,000 USD within next two months to finance realization of 19 projects of the associations of citizens, of which aim is to improve life in local communities.

The Office of PRO program in Novi Pazar announced that four projects from Novi Pazar, three projects from Nova Varoš and from Raška, two projects from Ivanjica, Prijepolje, Priboj and Sjenica and one project from Tutin had been selected to get funds.

These projects concern various fields - agriculture, tourism, ecology, development of civil society, children's and Roma people's rights.

They were selected among 83 draft projects submitted to the public competition announced by PRO program in November 2007. All associations of citizens from eight municipalities of southwest Serbia, where PRO program is being implemented, had the right to participate.

The Program for development of municipalities of southwest Serbia is being realized in association with the Government of Serbia, European Union and Government of Switzerland, as well as the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
