Stanka Pejanovic new president of Serbian Association of Managers

(Stanka Pejanovic) Stanka Pejanovic, CEO of Gorenje Belgrade, was appointed new president of the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM) at the tenth general meeting. She will be performing the function for the next three years.

Stanka Pejanovic thanked the association for the trust given to her and added that it was a great responsibility above all, but also a great honor and pleasure, the report says.

– I accepted the nomination as I believed that SAM was the right place for each successful manager or leader characterized by hard work, dedication, integrity and consistency. SAM brings together those who wish to constantly educate themselves, progress and change things for the better. In the next three years, the Managing Board of SAM will feature 25 successful managers, among them ten women – she said.

Stanka Pejanovic, BSc Econ, has been CEO of Gorenje Belgrade, member of the Gorenje Group, the biggest producer of house appliances in Slovenia and the eight biggest such company in Europe, since November 2014.

Before Gorenje, she worked as an experienced economics expert on building Roda and Mercator brands, as reported by SAM on February 10.

Former president Milan Petrovic said on the occasion that running SAM had been a new experience for him, but also a privilege, in the previous four years.

SAM aims to enhance the capacities of managers and promote the managerial profession in Serbia.

It has 400 members, professional managers, who manage teams of over 90,000 employees and realize jobs worth EUR 12 billion annually, the report says.

In its 10 years of existence, SAM has organized more than 30 activities with the government's institutions, 5 Summit100 Business Leaders of Southeast Europe events, 11 Entrepreneurship Fairs within the Chance for a New Beginning project, over 150 educational and networking events and more than 20 humanitarian activities and initiatives.
