Požarevac-based "Zabela" obtained up-to-date monitoring system - 1.5m EUR for security

Ministry of Justice and Administration for Execution of Institutional Sanctions represented the new security system yesterday (April 22, 2008) in House of Correction "Zabela" near Požarevac.

The monitoring system made of detectors and communication devices should raise the level of security within the prison where 1,274 convicts currently serve their sentence. The project worth about 1.5m EUR has been realized with the assistance of European Agency for Reconstruction.

- Video monitoring system, detector door and cell phone analysers have been installed. There are no cameras in the rooms. They are instaled in the halls and along the walks. Our opinion is that we will raise of the level of workers' safety in this way - the prison manager, Dragoljub Brajović, said on that occasion.
