Referential interest rate to remain at 14.5%

- At today's meeting (April 17, 2008), Monetary Board of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) decided to keep referential interest rate at 14.5% - National Bank of Serbia (NBS) announced.

The referential interest rate was last time raised at the beginning of March, from 11.5% to 14.5%.

The next meeting of the Monetary Board will be held on April 24 and, on that occasion, the effects of new measures from the field of monetary policy and supervision will be examined and the latest mid-term prognoses will be considered.

At that meeting, Monetary Board of NBS will estimate the level of restrictivity of monetary policy needed for realization of this year's projection of basic inflation between 3 and 6%.
