Profit of Novi Bečej-based "Polet" - 1.2m EUR

Factory for production of tiles and ceramic tiles "Polet" from Novi Bečej announced that it had realized profit in amount of 1.2m EUR in 2007. Total incomes of company "Polet", which operates as a part of Croatian "Nexe" group, amounted to 24.4m EUR and it was 14% larger than projected.

"Polet" produced 39.5m pieces of tiles, 5% more than projects, as well as 2.5m square meters of ceramic tiles, 7% more than planned.

Total sales of tiles in 2007 was larger than in 2006 by 2m pieces and it amounted to 40m. At the same time, 2.6m square meters of ceramic tiles were sold, which is 29% more than in 2006.

Last year, 15m pieces of tiles were exported, which is 15% more than in 2006. Over 1m square meters of ceramic tiles were exported, which represented 60% increase when compared to year 2006.

"Nexe" group has invested over 30m USD in "Polet" since 2003, and "Polet" has completed the study on new tile factory and construction of unit for dry processing worth 22.3m EUR.

This company currently collects the bids of the leading manufacturers of equipment from Germany and France. Construction of factories should start in 2009, while its putting into operation is expected in 2010.
