Government of Germany accepts amended law on road tolls – Annual vignettes for foreigners

The German Government accepted the new, amended law on road tolls on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, as reported by plutonlogistics.com.

According to the model accepted, and which was implemented after complaints by the European Commission over the initial form of the law, local drivers are to pay mandatory annual toll, whereas foreign ones are to pay through vignettes.

A ten-day vignette should cost EUR 2.5-25, depending on the size of the vehicle and the amount of toxic gases it produces. The implementation of the new system is expected to take place in late 2017 or early 2018, plutonlogistics.com writes.
