Cooperation between Erste bank and m:ts – simpler and quicker installation of ATMs by means of 3G network

Erste Bank Novi Sad has started to use new way of communication via 3G network of mobile operator m:ts, that is, it has started using new access service named 3GDATA. This way of communication enables use of broadband access to the data transfer network thanks to 3G infrastructure. The use of this technology simplifies and accelerates installation of ATMs. At the same time, the use of 3GDATA channel enables avoidance of limitations of classical telecommunication infrastructure.

Aleksandra Ognjanović, the CEO of the Directorate for alternative distribution channels of Erste Bank, said that the use of 3GDATA channel would accelerate installation of ATMs on the places with limited infrastructure.

The ATM network of Erste Bank in Serbia currently includes 72 ATMs – 16 in Novi Sad, 10 in Belgrade, and one or two in another 40 cities. The first Erste Bank’s ATM that uses 3GDATA access has been installed in Kać.
