Shareholders and ex-workers of Robne Kuce Beograd are finally receiving payments from the bankruptcy estate, Novosti writes.

The bankruptcy proceedings were initiated 15 years ago, and the final hearing took place nearly eight years ago. Owners of 1.34% of the former Yugoslavian giant stood to receive merely RSD 27 per share.

The repayment began on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Komercijalna Banka offices.

A total of RSD 196.3 million was set aside in 2009 to repay the shareholders. For years, they had been trying to have interest on 8 years of waiting included in the sum and the final decision of the Commercial Court was that they had no right to it. Finally, the former workers, who had paid for their share package as much as DEM 30,000 in the past, ended up with the amount of around EUR 100.

Let us remind that, in late 2016, the Bankruptcy Supervision Agency opened a public invitation to shareholders of Robne Kuce Beograd to submit requests for exercising the right to payment of monetary funds from the surplus of the bankruptcy estate.
