Strengthening of economic cooperation of Serbia and Iraq – Biggest potential in construction, agriculture, pharmacy

Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia Rasim Ljajic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Ibrahim Al-Jaafari estimated on Friday, January 20, 2017, at the meeting in Belgrade, that an agreement on cooperation in economics, trade and science and technology, which would provide a foundation for the strengthening of the economic bonds of the two countries, should be signed as soon as possible.


The agreements has already been defined, Ljajic's cabinet reported.

Ljajic and Al-Jaafari talked about improving the economic cooperation and agreed that construction, agriculture, pharmacy, tourism and ICT were the sectors that could make the quickest contribution to the growth of the merchandise trade.

The Iraqi minister invited companies from Serbia to take part in the recovery of Iraq, especially companies in the fields of construction, infrastructure and IT.
