– Local and foreign movies and TV series can now be filmed in our city, which has met all the requirements thereof in line with the defined price list. We have a lot to offer to filmmakers – says Deputy Mayor of Pirot Bojan Randjelovic.
Director of the Tourism Organization of Pirot, Bratislav Zlatkov, said that they had taken an active part in preparations for acquiring the certificate and that they had sent videos of potential locations to the Serbia Film Commission.
– There are around twenty of them for now and they are all accessible. This is a great acknowledgment for our city and we will benefit economically from it. Sections of certain movies and TV series have been filmed in Pirot before. Parts of Boj na Kosovu were filmed at the Fortress, parts of the TV series Vuk Karadzic were filmed at the Museum of the Nisava Region, as were famous movies by Zdravko Sotra such as Zona Zamfirova and Ivkova Slava, and the sequel to Zona by Jug Radivojevic. The locations most attractive to filmmakers include the Kej promenade, the medieval Fortress, the city's center, the Court building, the Museum of the Nisava Region, the stone village of Gostusa, waterfalls on Stara Planina, the Vladikine Ploce cave, monasteries in Poganovo and Sukovo, Pecinska Crkva (The Cave Church) in Rsovci... – Zlatkov says.
