Book not containing a single letter “A” presented

Journalist and writer Zoran Radisavljevic has presented his book Sve je moglo biti drukcije, unique in that the text doesn't contain a single letter “A”. At the presentation at the Media Center, it was said that the book is a unique work in Serbian literature and puzzle solving.

– I want to explain to beginners in puzzle solving what's valuable and what should be discarded through my books. I'm trying to make my books textbooks for puzzle solving – says Radisavljevic, an enthusiastic puzzle solver.

The work in question is a lipogramic text not containing the letter “A”.

The book consists of two sections. The first one is an autobiography in which the author opens his soul to the readers and talks about his childhood, how he came to love puzzle solving and his love for a girl. The second part is dedicated to puzzles, anagrams, riddles, even word squares without the letter “A”.

This is Radisavljevic's seventh book, and he said at the presentation that he had utilized associations in order to avoid the letter “A”. He said that he had written the book without previous planning, so that it would seem as natural as possible to the readers.

The author gave his view of puzzle solving in Serbia and said that, to many, it was only newspaper page filler, but that this was wrong.

He added that today's puzzle solving was more varied than before and that Serbia can stand shoulder to shoulder with other countries in the field.
