ĐELIĆ: Workers in RTB "Bor" will make decision about "A-Tec's" offer

(Božidar Đelić)
- The bids submitted by "A-Tec" and Russian SMR will be presented to the workers of Mining Smelter Basin "Bor"
and they will make decision about who will become the owner of the company - said Deputy Prime Minister Božidar Đelić today (April 8, 2008).
He said that those two bids would be presented to the workers of RTB "Bor" the next day, at the meeting of the Government's Supervisory board for privatization of that company.
- We will wait until tomorrow to establish social dialogue at the meeting of the Supervisory board for restructuring and privatization of RTB "Bor". General intention is to avoid the situation where the decision is made by only few ministers. That decision should be made by trade unions, workers and management in RTB, which all should be familiar with both bids, and they should give suggestions and order the Government what to do, and we will adopt that decision at the Government's meeting on Thursday - said Đelić.
He added that it was important not to interfere politics in the case of RTB and that the decision were made in favor of citizens of Serbia, that is, in favor of people who work and live in Bor and Majdanpek.
By the way, Đelić did not want to give comment on the statement of the owner of "A-Tec" , Mirko Kovač, that Russian company SMR was not acting in accordance with the tender terms and that it did not submitted banking guarantee, pointing out that that would also be one of the themes at the next day's meeting of the Board.
