Works on Resnik-Rakovica section from February 2017 – EUR 23 million for reconstruction of 7.5 km railway and new facilities

Representatives of Infrastruktura Zeleznice Srbije and the Chinese Company CCECC (China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation) today signed an agreement on the works on reconstruction and modernization of the Rasputnica G section of the railway, from Rakovica to Resnik.

The agreement worth more than EUR 23 million was signed by General Manager Dusan Garibovic and the director of the Chinese company’s Serbian office, Ju Tianran.

The agreement, it was said after the signing, envisions the reconstruction and replacement of the civil engineering and electrical infrastructure in the length of 7.5 kilometers. The works entail the adjustment of the elevation of the platform at the Rakovica station using BG Voz kits and rearranging the platform and canopies at the Kijevo-Knezevac stop and the Resnik station.

Furthermore, they entail the construction of an underground passageway and the extension of the station building and garage with an auxiliary track, modernization of three road crossings and the reconstruction of the culvert.

The parties to the agreement said that the works were being financed from an EBRD loan, and that they should start in mid-February. The completion deadline period is 351 days.
