Galenika sells RSD 5.2 billion worth of medical drugs in 2016 – Value of export EUR 6.9 million

Galenika exceeded all its business plans in the final quarter of 2016, and it has sold medical drugs worth around two billion dinars in the local market in the past four months, around 40% more than planned, the pharmaceutical company reported.

– The plan has been exceeded for the whole of 2016 as well. A total of RSD 5.2 billion worth of drugs were sold in the period, which is 8% more than planned and 14% more than in 2015 – stated General Manager of Galenika, Nedeljko Pantic.

In the fourth quarter of 2016, Galenika exported drugs worth EUR 1.9 million.

This amount is smaller than planned, but, looking at the entirety of 2016, the export amounted to EUR 6.9 million, which is on the level of the rebalanced plan and higher by 7% than the 2015 export. The main exporting markets of the factory are the countries of the region, and the company also export to the markets of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.

The company also reported that the production of drugs in the final quarter of 2016 had been in line with the plan and that the production in the entire 2016 had been higher than planned by 5%.

– The plan for 2017 is even more ambitious. We have based our goals on realistic foundations and I am convinced that they will be achieved – Pantic concluded and added that Galenika was the only pharmaceutical factory in the majority ownership of the state and that it had a great cooperation with the Ministry of Economy.

The procedure of selecting the strategic partner for Galenika is in progress.
