Ana Ivanovic ends tennis career

Serbian tennis player Ana Ivanovic announced on its Facebook profile that she was ending her career.

Formerly the first female tennis player in the world, Ivanovic decided to retire at the age of 29 due to, above all, the inability to further compete at the highest level.

She played only 31 matches in the past season, of which she won 15, mostly due to problems related to various injuries, whereas she missed the second part of the season completely.

Ana Ivanovic's greatest success was achieved in 2008, when she won Roland Garros, simultaneously becoming the world's first female tennis player. She stayed at the top of the list for 12 weeks. During her career, she won a total of 15 WTA titles and earned USD 15,510,787.

She was equally successful in her marketing ventures, as she has a lifetime contract with Adidas, as well as Rolex. She is a UNICEF ambassador and she married the renowned German football player Bastian Schweinsteiger in 2016.
