Copper Mill in Sevojno produced 3,500 tons of goods in March - largest monthly production in past 18 years

Copper Mill in Sevojno, near Užice, produced 3,500 tons of goods last month, which is the largest monthly production over the past 18 years.

About 90% of production was exported, half of which was exported to western European countries.
Having in mind high level of readiness of the unit and encouraging business results in the first quarter, Copper Mill plans to produce 40,000 tons of goods this year, which is about 30% more than in 2007.

The majority owner of the mill – the consortium made of companies "East point" and "Amalco" – invested about 23m EUR in modernization of the unit in the previous four years, which significantly contributed to growth of production and improvement of quality of products.

Copper Mill produced 31,777 tons of copper semi-finished products in 2007 and realized profit in amount of 2m EUR.

They also complained about policy of "strong" dinar, which, in their opinion, endangers economic position of large exporters.
