Diaspora invites businessmen to Zurich fair – Second Pan-Serbian Summit in Switzerland in June 2017

Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), Miroslav Miletic, announced on Monday, December 26, 2016, that the Pan-Serbian Summit would be held in June 2017 in Switzerland, where Serbia's potentials, but also the potentials of Serbs working in neighboring countries, would be presented.

As stated on the CCIS website, Miletic said at the session of the Diaspora Business Council at the CCIS, that he was happy with the cooperation between businessmen at home and in the diaspora, but he pointed out that there was room for improvement.

– We hope to contribute, year by year, to the total development of our country, the internationalization of business and an increase in export through these activities – Miletic said.

Meetings and intensive communication with representatives of our economy from abroad are, as he noted, always very important to the CCIS, having in mind the activities of the Diaspora Center at the CCIS.

President of the Association of Serbian Businessmen in Switzerland, Stojan Stevanovic, spoke about the results of the first summit and pointed out that the 2016 three-day summit of the economic, cultural and academic diaspora in Zurich had been very successful and that small and medium enterprises from the homeland had had an opportunity to present themselves in Switzerland.

Sreten Milosevic, director of the Novi Banovci-based company Antioxy, which produces and processes chokeberries, says that, thanks to the summit and and the association working in Zurich, his company has established a very good contact in Zurich, which resulted in the opening of the office in the city which deals in sale and expansion of the Serbian company's operations in the European market.

At the session of the Diaspora Business Council at the CCIS, there was talk about the activities towards connecting the business and the academic diaspora in 2017 and about a more intensive bilateral connecting of Serbia's economy with the countries in which our business diaspora is organized, and the draft project “Diaspora Home Office – Investment Center”, being prepared by the CCIS in cooperation with the UNDP, was also presented.
