Sony celebrates twenty years in Serbia

The Japanese consumer electronics giant Sony has marked two decades of operations in the Serbian market.

– Thanks to the import contract signed by Jugoslavija Komerc, Sony devices officially became available to consumers in the SFR Yugoslavia back in 1968, which means that we can claim to have an impressive 48 years of history – explains Nebojsa Popovski, sales manager at Sony Serbia.

Sony, however, officially opened its office in Belgrade, headed by Director Wakaizumi Koji, in 1996.

Famous for its Trinitron TVs, portable transistors, walkman and discman devices and other products which have set standards for numerous modern manufacturers, the company continues to inspire through its revolutionary technological solutions, says the company's press release.

As stated, this year, Sony is also celebrating 70 years since its foundation in 1946 in Tokyo.
