Cineplexx International continues to expand in south-east Europe, with its latest cinemas opening in Niš and Priština. The Niš cinema seats 800 and the Priština one 1,000, announced Cineplexx.

Both multiplexes are equipped with digital 3D technology and the most modern Dolby sound systems, with the largest auditoriums in both cinemas offering 4K resolution and HFR technology.

“The Cinemas in Niš and Priština have opened a new chapter of our success in south-east Europe. We expect up to 250,000 visits a year”, says Cineplexx International`s managing partner Christof Papousek.

Besides the cinemas in Niš and Priština, Cineplexx has also opened two cinemas in Belgrade and one in Kragujevac in the last 5 years.

Now a new cinema with eight auditoriums is being built in the shopping mall Belgrade Plaza. It will seat 1,500 and be the first cinema in south-east Europe capable of laser projection. The opening is planned for April 2017.

According to the announcement, the Cineplexx network today consists of forty multiplexes and six traditional cinemas in Austria, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Greece and Italy, with 291 auditoriums. In 2015 the company employed 1,300, turned over €125m and entertained 12 million visitors.
