Komercijalna Banka Beograd new owner of Beskuca palace in Kotor – Around EUR 2.9 million for Vojin Lazarevic's mansion

Komercijalna Banka Beograd has offered EUR 2.952 million for the purchase of the Beskuca palace in Kotor, owned by businessmen Vojin Lazarevic.

The Belgrade bank submitted the offer as a second mortgage creditor, as confirmed by lawyer Tomislav Miranovic for Dan. The palace has been put up on sale by Komercijalna Banka Banjaluka in order to collect the debt worth several millions arising from an unpaid loan taken out by Lazarevic. Beskuca was put up as the collateral for the loan approved by both Komercijalna Banka Banjaluka and Komercijalna Banka Beograd.

– The buyer is obligated to sign a sales and purchase contract on immovable property with Komercijalna Banka Banjaluka within seven days of the date of the public bidding – Miranovic said.

Lazarevic bought the palace in Kotor two decades ago and first put it up as the collateral when taking out a EUR 20 million loan at Austria's Hypo Alpe Adria Bank, and later, for loans taken out at KB Banjaluka and KB Beograd.

Beskuca has the status of a cultural property and the Government of Montenegro had the pre-emptive right over it, but waived it due to, as they estimated, being to expensive.

The amount of EUR 2.95, offered by KB Beograd, was the starting price. No one else has shown interest in purchasing the palace, nor have there been any deposit payments.
