As he stated, they arrived to Serbia because of the liberalization of the railway, among other things, and they plan to rent certain sections connected to industrial centers.
– We are seriously considering stepping up our transport capacities in Serbia. The first step is to go through the procedure of acquiring licenses from the competent state authorities, and then to have engines approved locally. We would especially like to work on routes connected to the steel industry, where we are able to provide added value to our clients thanks to our considerable experience – said Peter Malec for PlutonLogistics.
Budamar entered the region by purchasing stock in the Croatian company PPD Transport, and was noticed in Serbia when it took over the logistics operations for finished products of Zelezara Smederevo. Around 500 people are employed in all the company's subsidiaries. The consolidated income of the Budamar Group in 2015 reached EUR 317 million.
The company operates in Serbia through Smartcargo Beograd.
