Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce to open Serbian office in 2017

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce will open an office in Serbia in 2017, it was confirmed at the meeting between Marko Cadez, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCIS), and Ibrahim Al-Mahmoud, the first vice president of the Managing Board, and Mohammed Helal Al-Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber.

– Serbia has never had such a sudden revival of economic cooperation with any other countries as has been the case with the Emirates in the past few years, and the opening of the Belgrade office of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce will contribute to even stronger and more intensive bilateral economic bonds in the area of trade and investments – Cadez estimated, following the meeting at the headquarters of this business organization in Abu Dhabi.

According to Cadez, projects of strategic importance for our country are being realized with companies from the UAE, and a great potential for increasing the export and investments lies primarily in agribusiness, health tourism and the IT sector, but also in the areas of real estate, air transport, defense technologies and green industry.

In addition to talks about the potentials for enhancing economic bonds and the advantages of doing business and investing in Serbia, information about the functioning of the two business organizations was also exchanged at the meeting. The experience of the Abu Dhabi Chamber is especially useful for Serbia in organizing the Service Center, modeled as a “one stop shop”, issuing all the necessary permits for doing business in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

On the first day of his visit to Abu Dhabi, Cadez also talked to representatives of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and the Abu Dhabi Financial Group (ADFG) about possible business arrangements with Serbia.

The ADIA, which was founded in 1976 by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, invests in nearly all parts of the world, and the fund's capital has been estimated at over USD 800 billion.

The ADFG is one of Abu Dhabi's largest investment companies, with offices in Europe, including our region.

Other participants in the talks with Abu Dhabi's highest representatives of business and financial organizations included Danilo Cicmil, adviser to Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, and Ilinca Rosetti, CEO of Mirabank Serbia.
