In the past two year, Swiss investments in Serbia have nearly doubled and they amount to nearly EUR 1 billion, stated Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic during his visit to Switzerland on Thursday, December 8.

There are 200 Swiss companies operating in Serbia and they employ 9,000 people, he said and added that Serbia was doing everything in its power to improve the business climate and attract more foreign investments.

The prime minister talked with Johann Schneider-Ammann, President of Switzerland, in Bern, about the economic reforms in Serbia and its progress within the Doing Business list, but also about the plans for implementing a dual education system in Serbia.

Vucic expressed his satisfaction with the degree of cooperation with the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation, which had contributed greatly to the development of the entrepreneurial spirit in Switzerland.

– Today's society is developing toward academic education, which leads to higher unemployment rates, and this is why it's important to implement the dual education system – said Schneider-Ammann, as reported on the website of the Government of Serbia.
