Affidea opens first foreign diagnostic centre in Serbia - €4m invested in Belgrade clinic

Affidea of Amsterdam, the largest European chain in radiological medicine that works in 14 European countries, has opened a diagnostic centre in Belgrade. This is the first foreign diagnostic centre in Serbia and the first direct foreign investment in the Serbian health sector, writes Novosti.

Affidea has invested €4 million in the Belgrade centre. The company confirmed that it intends to continue its investment in Serbian health by opening diagnostic centres in Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac.

“Before we go into any country, we do thorough market research”, says Marijan Bilić, Affidea`s regional manager for the Balkans to Novosti. He says that the company has wanted to come to Serbia for a long time, but that the conditions have only recently been right.

Affidea is owned by leading Swiss investment company Waypoint Capital, and provides around nine million diagnostic services annually at 170 centres throughout Europe. It works in Ireland, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and now in Serbia, writes Novosti.
