Hemofarm opens new product quality control facility in Vrsac – Investment worth more than EUR 6 million

The company Hemofarm opened a new facility in Vrsac today, in which quality control of products will be performed. The investment is worth more than EUR 6 million, and, with this opening, Hemofarm marked ten years of operations within the German concern STADA.

The new facility will be used for quality control of all products from Hemofarm's portfolio, on a global level. The facility called Kvalitet has an area of 7,000 square meters, has been brought in line with GMP and the highest world standards of pharmacopoeia and has been designed for more than 300 employees.

The German STADA group has invested more than EUR 200 million in Serbia in the past decade, of which EUR 10 million in the past two years for the new ampule facility and Kvalitet in Vrsac.

Ronald Seeliger, CEO of Hemofarm and Vice President of STADA for Southeast Europe, is convinced that the company will prove to be a strong participant in the pharmaceutical market in the years to come.

– We are laying down the foundation for this ourselves and are very proud to have the Government's support for what we're doing here – Seeliger said and emphasized that the STADA Group was behind all the investments. As he said, their management decided several months ago to make Hemofarm the regional center of the concern for Southeast Europe.

Hemofarm runs operations in Southeast Europe, covering Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia.

– I believe this is not unimportant news for this country, which is obviously seen by German investors as an important and reliable country in the region, in the context of the business and legal climate, a country where it's possible to make long-term and stable plans – Seeliger said.

The new facility in Vrsac, he pointed out, is a confirmation of the company's investments in people, but also in the quality and constant improvement of its products.
