We will know at the beginning of the next year whether company EFT will have the first private steam power plant built in Dragačevo's village of Tijanje, so that it is too early to speak about capacities of the power plant and the value of investment.
As Nenad Savić, the Manager of the Communications Sector in EFT, explained for "Novosti", research on coal reserves on this location, quality and economical profitability of this project will start these days.
- Information on construction of steam power plant are a bit too early and they are still in far future, so that it can not be said for sure whether construction will take place - said Savić.
- We are interested in building in Serbia, we know that there is a plenty of coal there, but the study, the making of which requires 10 months, will show whether this steam power plant will be built at all. And when everything is agreed on, it will take at least 5 to 6 years for the construction to be finished.
Savić explains that they carried out 3 to 4 similar researches in the neighboring countries and that they showed that the coal reserves were small, which led to their giving up the construction. However, the research in case of Steam Power Plant "Stanari" in Republici of Srpska showed that there are sufficient coal reserves, so that the decision about construction of this power plant was made in mid-February.
By the way, company EFT is also interested in construction of mini-hydroelectric power plant in Serbia, of which power would be about 10 MW. But, Savić points out that it is necessary for the state to pass sublegal acts in order for investors to know for sure what documents they need, what the procedure and regulations are...
